Dedicated to the Day of Local Self-Government
Dear friends!
I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of Local Self-Government.
The Revolution of Dignity showed a great demand of Ukrainian society for efficient European type government. Ukraine needs true democracy which will ensure real participation of citizens in adopting state decisions and resolving everyday problems.
Today our country is on the edge of life-changing transformations which shall completely change principles of organizing local government and fundamentally expand powers of local self-government authorities. Local communities shall finally receive efficient mechanisms and sources of funding in order to independently resolve issues of development of the territories.
On this festive day, I express deep respect and sincere gratitude to workers of local self-government, local council deputies, and all those who work with people and for them.
I believe that Ukrainian people will give an adequate response to all present challenges, will form a responsible local government and will enthusiastically work to improve their lives. Together we will build a democratic, economically powerful, and prosperous state!
I wish peace, harmony, and welfare to every family and community, to whole Ukraine!
